Voting Procedures to Increase Voter Participation

In Texas members of the League of Women Voters recently studied various voting procedure options that might increase voter turnout and voter participation in elections. If the grassroots membership supports any of these alternatives, we will lobby for their support during the next session  of the Texas Legislature.

Options currently used in other states that could offer voters wider access and convenience, as well as streamline the system :

·     Vote by Mail

·     Election Day Registration

·     Election Day Centralized Voting

·     Instant Runoff Voting

·     Internet Voting
